Many think that the deities of their local temple spend a brief time in heaven on the day of the celebrations, which are observed in the month of January. The devotees therefore bade them farewell in the midst of joyous procession and rejoicing.

1.The locals begin by taking part in a customary bathing rite in the Satluj River. Some favour taking a ceremonial bath in the area's hot springs. With the help of the river's holy water, this rite purifies the body and soul.
2. Customary Meals
Families cook traditional meals on this day, including poultice, rice, lentils, vegetables, meat, halva, chilta, and pug. The local priests visit homes to bless the populace and distribute food grains as part of a significant rite known as Deacher and Deokhel.
3. The Act of Worship
Three times a day, rituals and prayers are offered in praise of the household deities. The god is worshipped in the morning by being given food, but not meat. The deity is then taken outside to be worshipped in the evening and is given wine and halwa. The deity is thought to have moved towards the Kinnaur Kailash when all the rites are finished.
