The Ram Navami Festival IN Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh

Ram Navami, which concludes Chaitra Navratri, is a festival that is cherished by Hindu followers with unwavering faith and a spirit of devotion. This event, which falls on the ninth day of the growing half of the Shukla Paksha, has long been revered in the Hindu religion. mostly because it is believed to be Lord Rama's birth anniversary. 

He is thought to have been born on this day to King Dasharatha of the Ikshvaku dynasty and Queen Kausalya in the city of Ayodhya as the seventh avatar of God Vishnu, also known as the preserver of Dharma. According to Hindu historical mythology, the birth of Lord Rama was the result of a heavenly plan to terminate the rule of the Rakshasa King.

The event is observed with the utmost reverence and devotion to Lord Rama.

Temples are decked, Lord Rama's statue is decorated with Sita, Laxman, and Hanuman, and a great number of worshippers attend the temples to ask the Lord for his blessings. The Lord's idols are placed in public pandals, hymns are sung, prayers are said, and Ramlilas are performed. It is a colourful festival that demonstrates the fervent devotion of followers to Lord Rama and the ramrajya he founded. People offer prayers for prosperity and unending peace.

Ramnavami's past

 

In Ramayana, one of the biggest Hindu epics, the history of Ram Navami is mentioned (history). In particular, it relates how the mighty King Dashratha and his Queens carried out the Yagna, a puja rite for Putra Prapti, and is also known as Vratha Katha (the birth of sons).

 

Because none of his Queens could have a son, he had intentionally done this on the advise of Maha Rishi Vashishth. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Yajna, the Lord of Yagnas, gave the Queens a bowl of blessed kheer to eat at the conclusion of the Yagna.

According to legend, after eating the blessed kheer, the Queens became pregnant. On the ninth day of the Chaitra month, Sumitra gave birth to Lord Shatrughana and Lord Lakshmana, Kaikeyi to Lord Bharta, and Kausalya to Lord Rama. Since then, Hindus all over the world have been fervently commemorating the anniversary of Lord Rama's birth.

 

Location, Day, and Time of Ram Navami

According to the Hindu calendar, this event takes place on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra. It usually takes place in April and is greatly enjoyed and enthusiastically observed. On this day, King Dashrath and Queen Kaushalya of Ayodhya welcomed Lord Rama into the world. Ram Navami is observed nationwide, however some cities, such Ayodhya, Sitamarhi, Vontimitta, Rameswaram, Bhadrachalam, and Shirdi, celebrate it with greater splendour and fanfare.
