Hadimba Devi Fair is another name for Himachal Pradesh's Doongri Festival. For those who don't know, Hadima, who is frequently referred to as Hidimba, was Bhim's wife. This event is mostly in honour of her. With the start of this festival, a lot of tourists are travelling to the area in quest of entertainment and fun.
Manali's Doongri Festival's history
Interesting Combination of Mythology and History. At the Hadimba (Hidimba) Temple, the Doongri Festival is observed. This old temple is basically a four-tiered pagoda with sculptures all around the façade. Maharaja Bhadur Singh constructed it in 1553, and the Cedar Forest surrounds it. The birthday of Hadimba Devi is the primary reason for this celebration. Also, it's thought that the temple was constructed around the spot where Hidimba used to meditate.
The Pandavas' Encounter. According to folklore, Goddess Hadimba, a vengeful demon who formerly resided in the Dhungri jungle with her family, was the husband of Bhima. The Pandavas once found themselves in the wilderness. They were then captured by the demons, who intended to eat them for tea.
It is thought that Hadimba and Bhima fell in love during this time, and the two of them later wed. They also had a son together, who was named Ghatotkacha. Legend has it that Hadimba (Hidimba) stayed behind in the forest, while Bhima left with his brothers and continued his trek. And now, it's thought that she guards travellers who
