The Hot Air Balloon Festival's past
The Karnataka State Tourism Department decided to organise the event and make it a major draw for tourists travelling to Karnataka in January and February, which led to the creation of the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Previously, the tournament was simultaneously held in Bidar, Hampi, and Mysore. Later, due to venue-related concerns, the organisers had to switch the locations from Bidar to Bangalore.
